HiPiHi: Chinese Second Life

Virtual China has posted a short bit about HiPiHi, which seems very obviously to be a Chinese clone of Second Life (which, for those of you who don't know, is kind of like an MMO game that's only of interest to academic types). The makers of the new game seem to be trying to fill the gap in China caused by the lack of a Chinese version of Second Life. An interesting quote inSecond Life Insider (link), which Virtual China links to:

Chinese forums suggest that the whole thing is all hat and no saddle. Show and no substance. That the whole thing is being pitched for a sale to some well-heeled company that's going to get ultimately nothing usable or scalable.

Sounds like your average, run-of-the-mill dot-com to me.
